SAFF U-19 Women’s: Bangladesh takes solo lead crushing Bhutan 6-0

Hosts Bangladesh took solo lead in the five-nation SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship’21 crushing Bhutan by 6-0 goals in their 2nd match at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Monday.

With the day’s well-merited victory, Bangladesh advanced to the top slot with an unbeaten run securing four points from two matches while Bhutan remained at 2nd slot with three points from two matches.

In the day’s match, Tohura Khatun and Shahida Akhter Ripa struck two goals each while Ritu Porna Chakma and captain Maria Manda scored one goal each for the winners, who dominated the first half by 3-0 goals.

Earlier, Bangladesh played to a goalless draw with Nepal while Bhutan outplayed Sri Lanka by 5-0 goals.

In the remaining matches, Bangladesh will play India on Dec 17 at 3pm, and Sri Lanka on Dec 19 at the 7 pm.
