The ‘Police Week-2022’ will begin across the country on Sunday with the theme ‘Skilled police, Prosperous Country, Bangabandhu’s Bangladesh’.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the programme at Rajarbagh Police Lines in the capital virtually around 10 am.
This year 230 members of police will be awarded for their various outstanding contributions, courage and services.
The awardees of 2020 and 2021 will be awarded together this year as the programmes could not be held in last two years due to Covid-19 pandemic.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in separate messages, greeted all members of the Bangladesh Police on the occasion.
National dailies will publish special supplements on this occasion while government, private TV and radio channels will air special programmes.
The five-day long programme of Police Week will conclude on Thursday.
