Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday expressed profound shock at the death of noted cultural personality and celebrated actor Mahmud Sajjad.
In a condolence, the Prime Minister said the actor will remain alive in the hearts of people for his contributions.
The Prime Minister prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to his bereaved family members.
Mahmud Sajjad died at a hospital in the capital around 2:30 pm on Sunday.
The famous theatre personality was undergoing treatment in the hospital for his Covid-19 related complication since September 1 last.
