Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Friday expressed hope that India would be able to supply Covid-19 vaccines to Bangladesh as per the agreement when their production goes up.
He said Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar informed him that the vaccine production has been hampered in India due to scarcity of foreign raw materials, but they would be able to recover the problem in the 4th quarter of the current year (October-December next).
“Hopefully, they would be able to supply the vaccines to Bangladesh in line with the agreement, if the vaccine production gets strengthened,” said Hasan while sharing views with journalists at his residence on Friday morning over his recent two-day visit to India.
He described his September 7-8 visit as very fruitful. Alongside inauguration of Bangabandhu Center at the Press Club of India in New Delhi, he held meetings with Indian external affairs minister, iInformation Minister, Foreign Secretary, journalists and researchers during the visit, said a press release.
He said the inauguration of Bangabandhu Center is a milestone in the relations of the two countries. A life-size portrait of Bangabandhu was installed there.
Hasan informed his Indian counterpart Anurag Thakur that Bangladesh would enforce the relevant law strictly over clean feed of foreign television channels.
