Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Tuesday sized a big consignment of 4.17 kgs of crystal methamphetamine (Crystal meth or Ice) and 50,000 Yaba pills worth Tk 22.37 crore from the Naf River in Teknaf uapzila of Cox’s Bazar district.

Tipped off, a team of BGB-2 conducted a drive in the area and seized the drugs from a boat in the Naf River, said a source at BGB headquarters.

However, no one was arrested in this connection as the smugglers reportedly fled the scene sensing the presence of the border guards.

Known by its street name ‘Ice’, crystal meth is a powerful drug that affects the central nervous system. It comes in the form of clear crystals or shiny blue-white rocks.
