A hardware store employee was killed on Thursday night in an attack allegedly led by Mirzanagar union parishad chairman in Feni’s Parashuram.
The deceased was Identified as Shahin Chowdhury, employee of a hardware store in Parshuram Bazar. He’s survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
After the deceased wife lodged a complaint, four people were arrested in connection with the murder. However, UP chairman Nuruzzaman Bhutto is on the run.
According to locals, Hashem, an associate of chairman Nuruzzaman, Thursday went to the store and asked for Tk 7 lakh that he had loaned to its owner.
An argument broke out between Hashem and the victim. Soon, Hashem called the UP chairman and his men. All arrived in no time and badly thrashed Shahin.
Locals rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Parashuram police station officer-in-charge Khaled Hossain said that the deceased’s wife filed a complaint on Thursday night. ‘Four people have already been arrested in this regard. Efforts are on to arrest the other accused,” he said.
