A new book titled “The Foreign Policy of the Twenty-First Century: Development and Leadership” by Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has been launched.

The book is a collection of essays, speeches, statements, interviews – both in Bengali and English – by the foreign minister and published by Nymphea Publication.

The publication features foreign policy issues, including Bangladesh’s presence in the international arena since 1971; external relations, and participation in international organisations.

Also, the book discusses the foreign policy of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman – “friendship to all and malice towards none.” Based on this principle, Bangabandhu wanted to build Bangladesh as a peaceful country – “the Switzerland of the East.”

According to Dr Momen, humans and water are vital resources for Bangladesh, but they can backfire if not used in the right way.

So, to effectively use these resources, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has introduced two package policies: economic diplomacy and public diplomacy. “The Foreign Policy of the Twenty-First Century: Development and Leadership” delves deep into these policies.
