A visually impaired father died after by his son pushed him to the ground over family disputes in Mohammadpur Upazila of Magura on Thursday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Monoronjon Biswas,73.
He was a resident of Nohata Union of Mohammadpur Upazila.
Two people were arrested over the matter, confirmed Nasir Uddin, the Officer-in Charge of Mohammadpur Police Station.
“The father and son locked horns on a very silly matter today and at one stage Monoronjon fell on the ground after being pushed and was hit on the head,” he said.
“He got unconscious right after being pushed to the ground and was immediately rushed to a local medical facility where the on-duty doctor declared him dead,” the officer added.
However, he refused to draw any conclusion without an investigation on whether the son intentionally killed his father or if it was an unfortunate accident.
He also informed that a case was filed over the incident.
