Grapevine is abuzz that Bollywood’s highest-paid actress Katrina Kaif and her rumoured boyfriend Vicky Kaushal are planning a destination wedding in the princely state of Rajasthan next month.

The two actors are likely to tie the knot at a fort in the northwestern Indian state for a fairy tale wedding — but the guests would not be allowed to carry their mobile phones at the venue, local media reports said.

The ban on cell phones is to ensure that no videos or photos of their wedding go viral on social media without their approval, the reports said, quoting sources close to them.

However, both 38-year-old Katrina and 33-year-old Vicky and their family members are tight-lipped about the impending wedding.

Basically a model, the Hong Kong-born actress began her Bollywood career with Boom, an action film, in 2003 that flopped. Two years later, she earned commercial success in Bollywood with the romantic comedy Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya.

What followed was a series of box-office hits — Namastey London (2007), New York (2009), Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009), Raajneeti (2010), Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), Mere Brother Ki Dulhan the same year, Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Dhoom 3 (2013), and Bang Bang! (2014).

Katrina’s other highest-grossing Bollywood films are Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Bharat (2019), co-starring Salman Khan. Her latest action flick Sooryavanshi, co-starring stars Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan, hit screens a couple of weeks back.

Born to the action director Sham Kaushal and his wife Veena Kaushal, Vicky ventured into Bollywood as an assistant to filmmaker

Anurag Kashyap in the crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur in 2012.

His first leading role was in the independent drama Masaan in 2015, but Vicky shot to limelight in 2018 with supporting roles in Raazi and Sanju, two hits.

A year later, his lead role as a military officer in critically acclaimed action film Uri: The Surgical Strike, got him the National Film Award for Best Actor.
