Eight people died and 166 tested positive of Covid-19 in Khulna in the past 24 hours till Wednesday morning, according to health officials on Wednesday.
The number of fatalities and cases were six and 163 respectively on Tuesday.
Of the deceased three died in Jessore, two each in Khulna and Kushtia and one in Chuadanga.
The office of the Divisional Health Director of the health directorate Dr Jashim Uddin Hawlader provided the information.
The fresh numbers took the total cases to 1,10,226 and deaths to 3,061.
Meanwhile, 1,01,403 people have recovered from the fatal disease so far.
