Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) hosted a virtual graduation ceremony for the 2021 batches of Building Bridges through Leadership Training (BBLT) and Building Bridges through Leadership Training Junior (BBLTJ) programmes Sunday.
One hundred and twenty-four students from English and Bengali medium schools and madrassas graduated from the BBLT and BBLTJ programmes in 2021 from Chattogram and Chattogram Hill Tracts.
The program participants – from different socio-economic backgrounds and communities, ethnic minorities – went through rigorous sessions of virtual training on the theoretical and practical concepts of leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication.
Aside from leadership training, students also worked in small groups to apply their lessons in social service projects.
By designing and implementing small but realistic, measurable, and results-driven projects, the graduates served 2,738 people from different communities.
Their activities included various topics ranging from raising awareness regarding Covid-19, health and nutrition during the pandemic, mental health awareness and support, plastic pollution, climate crisis and clean energy, and building emotional intelligence.
