Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football 2020-21 will restart Tuesday after a break of two weeks, with two matches of the 20th round.

The decision was taken at an online meeting of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Professional League Management Committee Sunday evening, with BFF Senior Vice-President and committee chairman Abdus Salam Murshedy in the chair.

The meeting also decided to go ahead with the league despite Bashundhara Kings’ Maldives tour this month. The Kings will visit the archipelagic state to play the group matches of the AFC Cup 2021.

The meeting also decided to complete the BPL by August 21.

Chittagong Abahani will play against Uttar Baridhara at 4pm at Kamalapur Stadium and Rahmatganj will face Brothers Union at 4pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) Tuesday, according to the new fixture.

On Wednesday, league leader Bashundhara Kings will face Muktijoddha Sangsad at 4pm at the BNS and Sheikh Russel will play against Arambagh at 4pm at the Kamalapur Stadium.

In the remaining 20th round matches, Dhaka Mohammedan will play against Police FC at 4pm and Dhaka Abahani will face Sheikh Jamal at 4pm Friday at the BNS.

Star-studded Bashundhara Kings are dominating the league securing 49 points from 18 matches. Second-placed Sheikh Jamal earned 38 points from 17 encounters; Dhaka Abahani remained at third spot with 36 points from 18 outings.

The BPL, which had earlier been scheduled to restart on July 24 after the Eid holidays, was deferred to July 30.

Once again, it was put off Friday. The postponement came just 60 minutes before matches had been due to start.
