Bangladesh will co-host the ICC Men’s World Cup 2031 with India, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed on Tuesday

The ICC has also finalized the host nations of all ICC men’s limited-overs events between 2024 and 2031.

Bangladesh offered to host the ODI World Cup alone, but ICC did not accept it for lack of required number of venues.

Bangladesh has previously hosted ICC Men’s World Cup 2011 jointly with India and Sri Lanka, in 2014. Bangladesh hosted both men and women editions of the ICC T20 World Cup.

It came as a big surprise that the USA will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 along with the West Indies. This is the first time when the USA is being part of a big ICC event. The West Indies has earlier hosted the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2010.

In 2025, Pakistan will host ICC Champions Trophy which will be Pakistan’s first biggest ICC event in more than a decade. Pakistan last hosted a big event— ICC World Cup 1996— along with India and Sri Lanka.

India and Sri Lanka will tie up to host the ICC T20 World Cup in 2027.

In October/November 2027, Namibia will host the Men’s World Cup for the first time alongside Zimbabwe and South Africa. South Africa and Zimbabwe last staged the event in 2003. It will be the first time when Namibia will be a part of ICC’s big event.

In October 2028 the T20 World Cup will be played in Australia and New Zealand and 12 months later India will host the Champions Trophy.

In 2030, England will share T20 World Cup hosting duties with Ireland and Scotland. It will be the first time since 1999 that Ireland and Scotland have hosted a major global cricket event.

And, as the dust settles from the recently-concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, the world now looks to Australia, who aims to defend their title on home soil. The next edition of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be played across the venues in Adelaide, Brisbane, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

Bangladesh will directly play the Super 12s stage of the next T20 World Cup along with the champions Australia and runner-up New Zealand, Afghanistan, England, India, Pakistan and South Africa.
