Bangladesh set Australia a target of 105 in the fourth T20 international at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium Saturday as the Aussies look to avoid a clean sweep.
Bangladesh managed to score 104 for nine in their 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat.
Mahmudullah Riyad, who hit a 50 in the third match, Soumya Sarkar, and Nurul Hasan Shohan failed with the bat.
Both Mahmudullah and Sohan were dismissed for ducks. After scoring 2, 0, and 2 in the first three matches, Soumya scored 8 today.
Of the first five batsmen, only Mohammad Naim and Shakib Al Hasan could reach double-digit. Naim scored 28 off 36 and Shakib posted 15 off 26.
Leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson took three wickets for 13 runs. He removed Mahmudullah and Sohan off two consecutive deliveries in the 11th over. Naim also fell to Swepson.
The onus was on Afif Hossain, Mahedi Hasan and Shamim Hossain to keep the scoreboard moving apace. Afif scored 21 off 17 balls before falling to Ashton Agar.
Shamim Hossain, who grabbed the limelight in the Zimbabwe tour, failed for the third time in the Australia series, scoring three. In the previous two matches, he scored 4 and 3. Mahedi posted 23 off 16 balls.
For Australia, Swepson and Andrew Tye bagged three wickets each and Josh Hazlewood took two.
