Two people were charred to death in a fire which broke out at the furniture factory in the City Gate area of Chattogram port city on Monday, a fire official said.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Newton Das, senior station officer of Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defense, said the fire broke out at a furniture factory in the area around 3:45 pm and soon engulfed the adjoining shops in the area.
On information, ten fire fighting units rushed to the spot and are trying to put the fire under control.
What caused the fire could not be known immediately.
