Women cricketers undergo Covid-19 test

The national women’s cricket team of Bangladesh, along with the support staff, underwent a Covid-19 test on Saturday prior to starting a training camp from Sunday.

The training camp will be running from January 3 to February 2, 2021 at the Sylhet International Stadium. The women team was idle after the Covid-19 breakout in the country in March 2020.

Along with the cricketers, a total of 42 members have been tested on Saturday, and the result is expected to come out this night.

“Cricketers, team management, team boys and drivers have been tested today. Only those who come out negative will join the camp in Sylhet,” Debashis Chowdhury, the chief physician of BCB, told the media on Saturday.

“We will arrange another test for them in the middle of the camp,” Debashis added.

In the first phase of the camp, the women cricketers will work on their fitness, and after that they will begin their skill training programme.
