Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today called upon all to overcome the transition period of covid- 19 with courage and patience.
“We are going through a critical period … I urge everyone to go through this transition period with courage and patience, I urge everyone to adhere to proper hygiene guidelines of Covid-19 to protect them from the lethal virus,” he said.
He made the call at a consumer good distribution programme from the Nagar Bhaban virtually at the Fakirchan Sardar Community Center in Wari, Old Dhaka, said a press release.
Through the programme, the mayor distributed goods among 1,500 low-income families. The programme was organised by ‘Selim Al Mahmud Memorial Council’ on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking at the programme, Taposh expressed his firm determination to take Bangladesh forward overcoming the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The mayor thanked Ward Councilor No. 41 for the initiative to distribute food items among low-income families ahead of the government’s announcement of a comprehensive lockdown and the holy month of Ramadan to curb the spread of the corona epidemic.
Chief Executive Officer ABM Amin Ullah Nuri, Secretary Akramuzzaman and other top officials were present.
