Presidents, PM pay tribute to adviser HT Imam

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina this afternoon paid their tribute to PM’s Political Affairs Adviser Hossain Toufique Imam, more known as HT Imam by placing wreaths at his coffin at the Central Shaheed Minar.

President’s Military Secretary Major General SM Salahuddin Islam and Prime Minister’s Military Secretary Major General Naquib Ahmed Chowdhury on behalf of the President and the premier respectively placed wreaths.

HT Imam breathed his last around 1:15am at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) here at the age of 82.

A cabinet secretary in the Mujibnagar Government during the country’s Liberation War in 1971, HT Imam was undergoing treatment at the CMH with various old age complications including kidney disease.

He has been serving as the Advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Political affairs since 2014.
