Obaidul calls for ending divisions between freedom fighters

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has called upon all concerned to unite the divided freedom fighters and create a united platform.

He said the extreme communalism under the patronage of anti-independence forces wants to destroy the cherished tradition of the country passed down for thousands of years. The freedom fighters have to unite against them.

He made the remarks at a programme organized by the liberation war affairs sub-committee of Awami League, joining via video conference from his official residence.

Quader said that the effort to destroy the indestructible spirit of the Liberation War is still going on which is a major obstacle to democracy, progress and development.

The country is moving forward with unprecedented success in democracy and economic development through many ups and downs and struggles under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu.

Obaidul Quader regretted that after 50 years of independence, the communal forces are still conspiring against the country.

He also called upon all to unite to materialize the dream of independence imbued with the spirit of Liberation War and tackling this evil power.

The BNP was branded as ‘the guarantor of anti-liberation forces’ by Quader.

“BNP leaders are suddenly waking up and playing the record of traditional lies,” he added.
