The Denmark-born captain of Bangladesh National Football Team Jamal Bhuiyan flew to Kolkata on Thursday afternoon from Dhaka to participate in the Indian I-League 2021-22 season for Kolkata Mohammedan SC.
Jamal Bhuiyan had tested Covid-19 negative on December 19 in Doha after a 14-day quarantine in Qatar.
He returned to Dhaka on December 22 and again took another coronavirus test which also turned out to be negative, paving his way to participate in the Indian League scheduled to begin January 9.
Jamal Bhuiyan, who played for Saif Sporting Club in the Dhaka League, will play for his old club Saif SC from the 2nd phase of Bangladesh premier league.
Earlier, Bangladesh national football team returned home from Qatar in the first week of this month after playing their FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 joint qualifiers against hosts Qatar on December 4, but captain Jamal Bhuiyan stayed there for few more days for personal reasons.
Later, the midfielder underwent Covid-19 test on December 10 in Doha before flying back to Bangladesh, but the test result came out positive although he had no symptom.
So, the Bangladesh captain went to self isolation at a hotel in Doha.
