Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey Padak recipient and Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artiste Indramohan Rajbongshi.
In a condolence message, the minister recalled the contribution of Indramohan Rajbongshi during the great Liberation War, saying his songs inspired the Freedom Fighters and freedom loving people in 1971.
Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary, said Indramohan established a folk organisation, Bangladesh Lok Sangeet Parishad (Folk Song Council), which works to practice, preserve, promote and do research on folk songs.
The minister prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Hasan also prayed for the early recovery of Indramohan’s wife Dipti Rajbongshi.
