Ten medical interns had a harrowing time on Friday night after being stuck in an elevator of the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) building in Chattogram for 45 minutes.
All the 10 were rescued around 9.45pm on Friday, fire service officials said on Saturday.
Md Shahidul Islam, senior station officer of Chandanpura Fire Service and Civil Defense, said that the 10 interns of Bangabandhu Memorial Hospital got trapped in the elevator between floors of the BMA building around 9pm on Friday.
Later, they dialled 999, seeking help. A team of fire service personnel soon rushed to the spot and got them out after cutting the door of the elevator, he said.
The elevator has the capacity of carrying six people but the 10 had boarded it, Shahidul said.
