Five more people were tested COVID-19 positive today raising the total number of infected patients to 15,853 in all eight districts of Rangpur division.
Health officials said the five new cases were reported after diagnosing 188 samples at the infection rate of 2.66 percent today in the division.
Among three new patients hailing from Rangpur district were reported positive after diagnosing 81 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in Rangpur city.
Meanwhile, two new patients hailing from Nilphamari district were reported positive after diagnosing 94 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in Dinajpur today.
Talking to BSS tonight, Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui said the number of COVID-19 patients rose to 15,853 as five new positive cases were reported from across the division today.
“The district-wise break up of 15,853 patients currently stands at 4,049 in Rangpur, 795 in Panchagarh, 1,333 in Nilphamari, 966 in Lalmonirhat, 1,020 in Kurigram, 1,513 in Thakurgaon, 4,712 in Dinajpur and 1,465 in Gaibandha,” he added.
