British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson and Deputy High Commissioner Javed Patel have attended the Durga Puja celebrations in Mirzapur, Tangail.
They had an incredible experience and thanked the Kumadini Welfare Trust for hosting a wonderful celebration despite COVID-19 restrictions, the High Commission said.
Meanwhile, US Ambassador Earl Miller extended Puja greetings to Bangladeshis.
“As Hindus all over the world celebrate Durga Puja, on behalf of US Embassy Dhaka, I send my greetings to all Bangladeshis on this auspicious occasion. The message of Durga Puja is universal – a commitment to compassion, concern for the poor, and love of family and community,” he said.
Though they are celebrating differently this year, may the festivities of Durga Puja inspire them all as the world continues the fight against COVID-19.
