Bashundhara Kings clinch women’s league crown with all-win record

National star-studded Bashundhara Kings smartly clinched the seven-team Tricotex Women’s Football League 2019-20 crown with all-win record on Wednesday.

They earned a massive 14-1 goals victory over FC Uttar Bongo in their last league match at the Bir Sherestha Shaheed Shipahi M Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur this afternoon, featuring three hattricks by national coloured Sabina Khatun, Krishna Rani Sarkar and Sheuli Azim.

Sabina Khatun struck five goals, Krishna Rani Sarkar and Sheuli Azim scored three goals each, Tohura Khatun netted two and Shopna scored the remaining goal for the Kings.

Sultana scored the consolation goal for Uttar Bongo in the dying moment.

In the day’s other match, Nasrin Sports Academy almost assured their runners-up slot in the league outplaying Jamalpur Kacharipara Ekadash by 5-1 goals at the same.

Sajeda scored two, Marzia, Ritu and Shohagi netted one goal each for the winners while Shirin netted the face-saving goal for the losers.

After the day’s match, Bashundhara Kings finished top comfortably in the league table with all-win records securing full 36 points from all the 12 matches while their nearest rivals Nasrin Sports Academy are in the distant 2nd position collecting 27 points from 11 matches.
