State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has expressed Bangladesh’s interest to work with Sweden in the clean and renewable energy sector.
He conveyed such interest to newly appointed Swedish Ambassador Alexandra Berg Von Linde when she met him at his office in Power Division on Tuesday.
They discussed different issues of mutual interests of the two nations.
The Swedish envoy said that the interest of his government and his country’s businessmen has continuously been growing about Bangladesh’s power and energy sector.
“We need to discuss with the businessmen in Bangladesh” she said.
She also discussed the potentials of energy, power transmission and distribution, waste to energy, waste management and energy conservation.
The ambassador also underscored the need for increased communications with Bangladeshis for exchanging experiences and enhancing capabilities.
Welcoming the new Swedish ambassador, the State Minister said there is huge scope for Sweden to work with Bangladesh.
The power generation from waste, and also waste management system of Sweden is very developed one while the technology in power system is also very modern.
“We can share and utilize the experience of Sweden in introducing smart grid, smart transformer, smart meter, and also in power transmission and distribution systems”, he said.
Power Secretary Dr Sultan Ahmed was also present in the meeting with the Swedish ambassador.
