The Bangladesh Championship League, the second-tier contest after the Bangladesh Premier League, will kick off in the first week of February 2021.
The decision came up at the first meeting of the Bangladesh Football Federation’s professional football league committee on Saturday.
The meeting was held online with the committee head Abdus Salam Murshedy MP at the chair.
The first registration window for player transfer will be open from December 7 to January 7.
When the league ends, the Bangladesh Football Federation will arrange a U18 tournament with the participation of the championship league teams.
The top team of the league will be entitled to play in the premier league from next season, while the bottom two will be relegated to the lower division league.
