Bagerhat Sadar Upazila clinched the Bagerhat DC Gold Football Tournament beating Mollahat Upazila 1-0 in a keenly contested final at the Sheikh Helaluddin Stadium here on Saturday.
Solaiman scored the matchwinner for Sadar in the 33rd minute of the 2nd half and was adjudged the best player of the final.
Ammar of Sarankhola was named as the highest scorer of the tournament while Mohammad Arif of the champions team was declared as the best player of the tournament.
Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat District Mohammad Azizur Rahman was the chief guest at the day’s closing function and later he handed over a cheque of Taka 1 lakh to the champions and a cheque of Taka 50,000 to the runners up Mollahat alongwith the trophies.
