A Feni court on Monday placed Ariful Islam Sakib, who was arrested in connection with the rape of a girl, from Sujapur village in Sonagazi upazila on Sunday night, on a two-day remand.
Feni Judicial Magistrate passed the order when Yakubur Rahman, sub-inspector of Feni Model Police Station and also the investigation officer of the case produced him before the court with seven-day remand prayer.
Sakib along with some people filed a case with Feni Model Police Station alleging a schoolgirl had been gang-raped by eleven people.
During investigation, police came to know that Sakib plotted the incident intending to implicate his rival in the case.
Later, police arrested him on Saturday.
Sajedul Islam Palash, officer-in-charge of Feni Model Police Station, said Sakib forced his girlfriend, a class IX student of the same village, to file the case against them. He also sent video footage of the rape incident where it is seen that 11 people are involved in violating the girl, to some people including journalists.
However, Sakib himself violated the girl with a promise to marry her this coming October 28 and the victim filed a case against Sakib on Sunday night.
