World peace day observed at NSU

World Peace Day has been observed in the North South University (NSU) in a befitting manner with renewed pledge to build a new Bangladesh.

On the occasion a roundtable discussion, peace rally, tree plantation, release of pigeons and film screening programmes were arranged in the university campus.

Addressing the discussion Vice Chancellor of the NSU Prof. Abdul Hannan urged the students to break the barriers which were created over the years in the country’s socioeconomic and political system.

‘Let move for a future which would create a permanent culture of harmony and understanding to build a peaceful society,’ he said.

Centre for Peace Studies (CPS) of the NSU arranged the discussion participated by leaders of Anti-discrimination Students Movement.

Anti-discrimination Students Movement’s coordinator of Dhaka University Al Mudasir Chowdhury, Jahangirnagar University student Prapti Taposhi, BRAC University student Afia Jannant Anannya and East West University student Asif Adnan took part in the discussi
on.

Social Science Department Assistant Professor and CPS coordinator Dr Abdul Wahab coordinated the roundtable discussion.

In the beginning, one minute silence was observed to show respect to the martyrs of student-people mass upsurge.
