Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has sought media support to build up confidence in police members to serve the people.
“We need your suggestion and constructive criticism to boost mental strength and level of confidence among police personnel in the current changed situation,” he said.
RMP Commissioner Abu Sufiyan told this at a meet the press programme at his office today.
He hoped that police would get back their mental strength and confidence soon to come back to their duties with full strength.
Some police members posted in remote stations and outposts are still feeling insecure, he said hoping that the situation would improve shortly.
Abu Sufiyan, who joined office on September 9 last said all 12 police stations in the metropolitan area are actively providing services and all police personnel joined their duties.
RMP commissioner said, 11 cases related to attacks on the anti-discriminatory students-people movement in July-August were lodged.
Two people were killed and 61 others injured in the a
ttacks while 140 firearms looted from different police stations and outposts were recovered.
Besides, RMP Headquarter building, three police stations and an outpost were badly damaged in the attack, he said.
Replying to a question, RMP commissioner said the forthcoming Durga Puja of the Hindu community would be held amid festivity in the metropolis and all-sorts of security measures have been taken in this regard.
