A parliamentarians’ team led by Ammar Bahadur Thapa, the President of the Education, Health and Information Committee of the House of Representatives, today inspected 108 ropani land (one ropani equals to 508.74 sq. metres) registered in the name of Nepal Trust at Sallaghari of Bhaktapur-1.
Ram Prakash Chaudhary, Leeladevi Bokhim, Binita Kumari Singh, Gyanu Devi Subedi, Committee secretary Dashrath Dhamala, under-secretary Pushpa Prakash Khanal and section officer Yamuna Subedi were in the team that inspected the Trust land, Hanumante corridor, and the Khwopa College and Hospital operated by the Bhaktapur municipality.
Municipality mayor Sunil Prajapati welcomed the team and demanded to provide the land to the proposed Khwopa University.
A discussion programme was held at the Municipality subsequently and on the occasion, secretary of Nepal Workers and Peasants’ Party and lawmaker Prem Suwal urged the team to facilitate endorsing the Khowpa University Bill from the parliament and granting the Trust land i
n Sallaghari to the University.
Former Education Minister and lawmaker Devendra Paudel said the Municipality’s efforts to promote education are exemplary and should be followed by the remaining 752 local levels in the country. The team also visited the Janajyoti Library and a child care center operated by the local government and local ponds Bhajya Pukhu and Siddha Pokhari.
