Maoist Centre Chair Dahal calls for unity to combat national disaster

Kathmandu: CPN (Maoist Centre) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has called for unity in responding to the disaster in the wake of incessant rains occurred for the past few days.

Chairman Dahal issued a press statement today and said that since a large number of citizens are still missing, it is the first duty to search for them, treat the injured and protect the homeless, and start the rehabilitation work in a speedy manner.

Former Prime Minister Dahal urged the government to take immediate actions to combat the dire situation.

He further urged to intensify the reconstruction bid as roads, power supplies were disrupted by the landslides and floods ahead of major festivals. Chairman Dahal also has urged party cadres to join hands in rescue operations.

He has expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and physical properties across the country caused by the natural disasters.
