Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that his party was gaining popularity because of good governance and corruption control it maintained during its leadership of government.
Chairman Dahal said it while addressing the 23rd national conclave of ANNISU (Revolutionary) here Thursday. He urged all sides in the party to devote to the campaign of making the party the largest political force through the upcoming general elections.
The government led by him was toppled after he took bold decisions to maintain good governance by controlling the corruption, he argued, adding, “Steps taken against fake Bhutanese refugee case, Bansbari land encroachment and adoption of meritocracy in appointment office bearers at TU were some noticeable reforms taken during my premiership.”
He added that his party’s image was enhanced in the international arena after he addressed the UNGA, COP-28 and other international conferences. Dahal shared he adopted a balanced foreign policy to harmonize
bilateral relations with neighbouring countries.
Chairman Dahal accused the present government of working against the political changes established by various political movements.
According to him, there will be unity among the leftist forces in near future.
Dahal expressed belief that the students’ conclave would take effective decisions to resolve the national political crisis. “Mega campaign of party building was already begun as people were expecting a lot from his party. Students should come up with supportive programmes’ he called.
Similarly, ANNISU (Revolutionary) In-Charge Himal Sharma said that the Union’s leadership would be selected through direct election.
Former chair of the Union Ranjit Tamang, Nepal Students’ Union (NSU) Chairman Dujang Sherpa among others addressed the event.
