Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested
a listed drug dealer Shahjahan Mia, former chairman of Teknaf Sadar Union
Parishad (UP), from the city’s Bashundhara residential area in the wee hours
of Monday.
Assistant Superintendent of RAB ANM Imran Khan confirmed it to BSS today.
Recently, in a video footage it was seen that Shahjahan, also the nephew of
Awami League-backed former lawmaker Abdur Rahman Bodi, directly attacking the
protesters with sharp weapons during the anti-discrimination student movement
in Teknaf.
“He is accused of several cases including violence and narcotics. Necessary
legal action will be taken soon against him,” the RAB official added.
