Vehicular movement on the Rapti highway has come to a halt due to occurrence of landslides at various locations along the roadway amidst continuous rain.
Assistant Chief District Officer Sabitra Pun at the District Administration Office said the highway has been obstructed due to landslides between Ramri of Tulasipur and Kapurkot of Salyan.
Pun said landslides have occurred at some places and the road has subsided at some other places.
According to her, heavy vehicles, trucks and trippers have been banned on the highway from today till September 29 for carrying out road repair works.
The road section will be opened for light vehicles after removing the landslide debris.
