Govt focuses on actions, not on talks in preventing dengue: LGRD Adviser

Adviser to the Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD), and Cooperatives and Land Affairs Ministries A F Hasan Arif today said the government is putting focus on actions than holding discussions while preventing dengue.

“We are focusing on actions than having talks in preventing dengue. All the city corporations and municipalities have already prepared their course of actions following instructions of the government,” said the adviser.

The adviser made the remarks while speaking to the journalists after visiting patients admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) this evening.

Hasan Arif said, “I have talked to the dengue patients admitted to the DMCH. They are recovering gradually as they are getting proper treatment. They have no complaints about the treatment.”

“Doctors and nurses are working relentlessly. We will be definitely able to deal with the dengue situation successfully with collective efforts”, he added.

“On September 8, we had a fruitful meeting of national committee for preventin
g misquote-borne diseases, including dengue. And a number of schemes have already been taken in this regard”, said Arif.

Secretary to local government division Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, additional secretary Dr Md Sher Ali Khan and officials from local government division, citycorporation and DMCH, among others, accompanied the adviser.
