The government has cancelled posting of eight newly appointed deputy commissioners (DCs) and reshuffled posting of four others.
‘A fit list is usually prepared by a selection committee for appointment of deputy commissioners. The committee held a meeting today. After reviewing the recent posting of 59 DCs, the committee cancelled appointment of eight,’ said Public Administration Ministry Senior Secretary Dr Md Mokhlesur Rahman at a press conference.
The districts are- Lakshmipur, Joypurhat, Kushtia, Rajshahi, Sirajganj, Shariatpur, Dinajpur and Rajbari.
The gazette notification about the cancellation of the posting of eight DCs has been issued today, the secretary said adding that the vacant positions will be replaced soon.
Another gazette notification issued today said, DC of Tangail was transferred to Panchagarh while DC of Nilphamari to Tangail, DC of Natore to Lakshmipur and DC of Panchagar to Nifamari.
