A court here today showed arrested former officer-in-charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station Inspector Abul Hossain in another case over killing a youth Emon Hossain Gazi during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5.
Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Arifur Rahman sent Abul to jail after showing him arrested in the case filed with Jatrabari Police Station, as police produced him before the court upon completion of his 7-day remand.
Emon Hossain Gazi was shot dead on August 5 while he was taking part in the mass uprising in Jatrabari Thana area.
His brother Anwar Hossain filed a murder case with Jatrabari Police Station naming 85 persons on August 28.
Abul was arrested from Teknaf Thana area of Cox’s Bazar on September 16 in connection with another murder case filed with Jatrabari Police Station over killing a school student Md Sakib Hasan in police firing during the mass uprising. He was later brought to Dhaka and was taken on a seven-day remand in connection with the case.
