Former MP, ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury was sent to jail by Chattogram district police after completing his two-day remand.
Central Deputy Jail Super Ibrahim Raju confirmed it to the newsmen after he reached the prison around 11:30 am on Thursday.
Former Awami League lawmaker Fazle Karim Chowdhury was arrested by a BGB team on September 12 while he was trying to intrude into India through Akhaura border in Abdullahpur area.
Later, he was brought to Chattogram by helicopter on Thursday. When he was produced before the court on September 24, the judge granted him two-day remand.
The remand was granted in the case of vandalism of Muniriya Jubo Tabligh Committee office and mosque in 2019.
A total of 10 cases have been filed against him, including killing of students in the anti-discrimination student movement and killing of Chhatra Dal leader Nurul Alam Nuru, with various police stations of the city and district.
