Businessman Aslam placed on 4-day remand in Tawhid murder case


Businessman Aslam Serniabat and his manager were placed on a four-day remand by a court here today in connection with Tawhidul Islam Bhuiyan murder case under Badda Police Station.

The Investigation Officer (IO) of the case today produced Aslam Serbiabat and his manager Sohel Islam before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Md Mehedi Hssan with a prayer for granting their 10-day remand. The lawyer of Aslam Serniabat prayed for granting bail opposing the remand petition. Meanwhile, the prosecution side opposed the bail petition. After hearing both the sides, the court granted remand for four days rejecting the bail petition.

Tawhidul Islam Bhuiyan was shot at by police in front of the Bouddha Mandir at Merul Badda during the anti-discrimination students’ movement on July 19. He was immediately taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on July 21.
